Transcy - How to manage the translation of URL handle in app

Since June 26, 2023, Shopify has supported and provided API for 3rd-party translation apps to be able to manually enter translations for URL handles to show different versions to different customers across languages.

For example, you may want your product URLs to be example.com/products/en-us/red-shoes for English-speaking customers and example.com/products/es-us/zapatos-rojos for Spanish-speaking customers. Simply to use Transcy app to translate and manage the translation of resource URL handles.

Your existing urls will automatically redirect to the new translated urls (e.g. example.com/es-us/products/red-shoes will redirect to example.com/es-us/products/zapatos-rojos)

Translated URL handles are supported for products, collections, blogs, articles, and pages.

Example:

Please be advised that to avoid getting broken link which might lead to the 404 Page not found, the app will remain the URL structure and only allow to translate/edit the slug of URL.

Like the above example, we only allow to translate and edit the translation of the slug (yellow highlighted part).

Since August 10, 2023 we inform this new release, all users will receive the notification in Dashboard and Manage translation menu to alert about this information.

Because we provide new resource URL handles according to the update of Shopify so the translation status of some pages might be affected. Please kindly be aware and re-check to update the status.

Hope this helps you a lot.
