How Ali Review’s billing works

The Ali Reviews uses Shopify's payment system and processes charges within Shopify's billing cycle. As a result, the app charge will appear on your next Shopify bill. Read more about how the Shopify payment system works with app charges.

Once you choose a plan, you won't be charged until after your 7-day trial period ends.
The Ali Reviews subscription lasts for 30 days, and you will be billed at the start of each 30-day period.
Although Ali Reviews has its own billing cycle, the charge will appear on your Shopify bill. You can find your Shopify bill in the Shopify Billing settings.

Access pricing page

Steps

From the Ali Reviews dashboard, navigate to the side menu on the left.
Click Settings & Pricing.
Click the Pricing tab.
Scroll down the compare plans features section; then you will see the different pricing with each feature.

Understand Monthly plan

Trial period

You have a 7-day trial for all monthly plans to experience the features of the plan you chose. After the 7-day trial ends, the subscription will start automatically.

Upgrade Monthly plan

Here's how you will be charged when upgrading to a higher plan:

New subscription charges are prorated when a merchant upgrades to a higher-priced subscription during the current billing cycle. The total cost is calculated based on the following factors:

The cost you have already paid for the current plan
The cost difference between the plans
The time left in the current billing cycle

plan1_cost + (plan2_cost - plan1_cost) * (cycle_days_left / total_cycle_days) = total_cost

For example:

If you begin a 30-day billing cycle on a $9.90 Starter plan and upgrade to a $19.90 Essential plan on day 15 of the billing cycle, you'd be charged a total of $14.9 for the upgraded plan. The charges will be separated into 2 parts: $9.90 for the Starter plan and a $5 prorated charge for the Essential plan.

$9.90 + ($19.90 - $9.90) * (15/30) = $14.9

Downgrade Monthly plan

Tip: Read more about how Shopify prorated charges and prorated credits.

When you downgrade to a lower-priced subscription during the current billing cycle, you are offered prorated credits. You can go to Shopify settings > Billing to check the credits in the Shopify Billing settings.

The amount owed is based on the following factors:

The cost difference between the plans
The time left in the current billing cycle

(plan2_cost - plan1_cost) * (cycle_days_left / total_cycle_days) = total_cost

For example:

If you begin a 30-day billing cycle on a $19.90 Essential plan and then downgrade to a $9.90 Starter plan on day 15 of the billing cycle, then you are offered prorated credits.

($19.90 - $9.90) * (15/30) = $5.00

Note: If your reviews exceed the selected plan's limit, remove enough reviews to meet the new plan's limit before downgrading.

Understand Yearly plan

Trial plan

In the Yearly plan, Ali Reviews offers a 7-day free trial to try the features you need. After the trial ends, the subscription will start automatically.

Upgrading Yearly plan

Upgrading a Yearly plan uses the same formula as upgrading a Monthly plan:

plan1_cost + (plan2_cost - plan1_cost) * (cycle_days_left / total_cycle_days) = total_cost

You might see 2 charges on your bills, but these 2 charges together represent the total price of your final selected plan.

Tip: Read more about getting to know about the Yearly pricing plans.

Downgrading Yearly plan

According to Shopify's policy, if you switch to a lower-priced annual subscription, the new subscription is deferred until your current annual billing cycle is completed.

However, our current app does not support downgrading plans in the Yearly plan. Therefore, currently, you cannot downgrade an annual subscription to a lower annual and monthly subscription.
